Three Employees as Oceanside Smoke Shop Accused of Selling Products Containing Cannabis, THC

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of three individuals during a Narcotics Investigation that occurred on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 4:30 pm in Oceanside.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, officers conducted an investigation at Da Smoke Shop located at 230 Merrick Road. It was determined that cannabis and chocolate bars containing Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were being sold at this location.
During the investigation, a large quantity of cannabis, products containing Tetrahydrocannabinol and US currency were recovered. Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives placed the following defendants under arrest without incident:
  • Mariah M. Verhun, 20, of 782 School Drive, Baldwin
  • Ryan C. Schweiker, 28, of 95 Lakeview Avenue, Lynbrook
  • Stephen J. Jensen, 26, of 286 Vincent Avenue, Lynbrook
Defendant Verhun is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of Cannabis 2nd Degree.
Defendant Schweiker is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of Cannabis 2nd Degree.
Defendant Jensen is charged Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of Cannabis 2nd Degree.
All three defendants were arraigned on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
