The Salvation Army Provides Thousands of Thanksgiving Meals To New Yorkers in Need

Thanksgiving is looking grim for thousands of families and individuals this year, as the cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is expected to be 13.5% more than last year, and the price of turkey alone is going up 73 percent. Rising inflation and economic strains make it hard for many to makes ends meet, let alone enjoy the holiday, which is why The Salvation Army Greater New York Division is continuing its longstanding tradition of providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need.
The following is a select list of The Salvation Army Corps locations throughout the Greater New York region where holiday meals will be distributed and/or served in time for Thanksgiving. Note: amounts vary by location, so best to contact local Corps for specific information
  • Westbury – Nov. 16 at 11am
  • Beacon – Nov. 16 at 9:30am
  • Hempstead – Nov. 17 at 12pm
  • Port Richmond – Nov. 17 at 11am
  • Spring Valley –Nov. 17 at 6pm
  • Stapleton – Nov 17 at 10am
  • Sunset Park – Nov. 18 at 10am
  • Kingston – Nov. 18 at 9:30am
  • Flushing – Nov. 20 at 12pm
  • Harlem Temple – Nov. 21-22 at 9am
  • Bronx Citadel – Nov. 22 at 1pm
  • Port Jervis – Nov. 22 at 1pm
  • Yonkers – Nov. 22 1pm
  • Newburgh – Nov. 23 at 10am & 1pm
  • Poughkeepsie – Nov. 23 at 9am
