BFF is proud to announce the first in-person New York City film screenings since the pandemic. Like all arts organizations, COVID-19 hit BFF hard, due to the moratorium on in-person events. Nonetheless, during 2020-2021 lockdown BFF hosted 100 virtual events to raise over $50,000 for cycling advocacy organizations and independent cinemas in the United States, Canada, and the UK. We look forward to coming together to enjoy the films on the big screen.

BFF has an incredible history. The festival began in New York City in 2001 by Brendt Barbur after being hit by a bus while riding a bicycle. He insisted on turning this negative experience into a positive one. Barbur was compelled to start the Bicycle Film Festival to celebrate the bicycle through music, art, and of course film.
BFF has since expanded from our home city of New York to over 100 cities worldwide, from Istanbul to Cape Town, Tokyo to the Sydney Opera House.
The past 22 years we have screened world-class films presenting every imaginable aspect, manner, and mode of cycling. These short and feature length films have been expertly curated and delivered to an aggregate audience of one million attendees.
