The owner of Hooks & Chops, a popular Commack seafood restaurant and chophouse, has abruptly announced on Friday, October 7 that the eatery has been permanently closed due to “unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances.”
The establishment, located at 6330 Jericho Turnpike, was initially closed temporarily due to a flood on Tuesday, October 4. However, the owner then announced just days later that Hooks & Chops would never be opening their doors ever again.
“Due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances, head chef and owner Steven Del Lima is saddened to say Hooks & Chops has been forced to close its doors,” the owner said in a statement. “We’d like to give a big thank you to our loyal staff and clientele for supporting us and we thank you all for the last two years of service.”
“We’d like to make it extremely clear that we had no indication of doors closing up until very last minute and it came just as big of a shock to us as it did to you,” the owner continued.
The owner confirmed that those who had bought gift cards would be receiving refunds; those seeking one need to email a picture of their gift card and receipt to [email protected].
