New Brewery Proposed for Bay Shore Industrial Property

Share

A new brewery is being proposed for a Bay Shore property at 25 Degnon Boulevard (south of Montauk Highway), formerly the home to Kenneth Steven Designs, a woodworking and home interior renovation company. According to an application with the Town of Islip, the new spot will be called Moonfish Brewery.

An application with the Town of Islip requests that the planning board consider a special permit for a bar or tavern for the property along with site plan modifications.

Plans that were submitted for the meeting on October 12th call for 25 parking spaces for the new brewery meeting exceeding town requirements of 24.1 stalls. Egress will be on Degnon Boulevard. There is an existing 3,126 square-foot two-story building that the applicant plans show will remain. An additional 4,982 square-foot two-story building with a deck overlooking Orowoc Creek is proposed to be constructed on the site.

The .5-acre industrial site sits on a Orowoc Creek canal and, according to Zillow, the property last sold in 2019 for $875,000. Public records show that Moonfish Brewery is located at 25 Degnon Boulevard as of March 2021.

The application was on the decision calendar at the meeting. Plans could be subject to change.
