The Ozone Park Residents Block Association and the Ozone Park Howard Beach Woodhaven Lions Club present the 1st Annual Ozone Park Awards Gala on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
We are proud to announce the welcoming of Ozone Park’s own hometown hero, Mission Specialist & Astronaut Charles Camarda, who is coming back to Ozone Park to be honored. This is a first for Ozone Park.
We are revealing a plaque in front of his home that we will register with the National Register of historic places. The owners of the home, located at at 137-28 96 Street in Ozone Park, have graciously allowed us to do this in front of his birth home. The plaque will be revealed at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 16.
This event will be followed by an awards gala at Roma View at 160-05 Crossbay Blvd in Howard Beach, NY from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. where we will honor him and other members of our community who have made a difference in people’s lives, followed by a dinner dance.
