NCPD: Rosedale Woman Arrested for Leaving 4 Month-Old Alone in Running Vehicle

The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Rosedale woman on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 5:25 pm in Valley Stream.

According to Officers, at approximately 4:21 pm a witness observed an infant left unattended inside a parked vehicle located at Walmart 77 Green Acres Road West. Upon police arrival, Officers observed an unsupervised male infant, 4 months old, in the rear seat of a vehicle that was locked and running.

Officers used a lockout kit to open the door and remove the child from the vehicle. An ambulance arrived and a Nassau County Police Medic evaluated the infant victim. Approximately one hour after an announcement was made in Walmart, the mother, Defendant Treisha Clarke, 41, returned to the vehicle and was placed under arrest without incident. The child was placed into the custody of a family member.

Defendant Treisha Clarke is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
