The First Squad reports the arrest of an individual on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 3:10pm in Uniondale.
According to Detectives, at approximately 1:06pm Defendant Kevin Allen, 50, of 162 Washington Avenue Roosevelt while waiting in line at the Golden Crest Restaurant located at 540 Jerusalem Avenue Uniondale was approached by a male known to him and an altercation ensued between the two men.
The male suspect removed a black firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the Defendant. During the altercation, the firearm fell to ground where it was retrieved by a good Samaritan for safe keeping. The male suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Defendant Kevin Allen did attack the good Samaritan from behind and began to apply pressure to the victims neck causing the victim difficulty to breathe and putting him in fear of his well-being. The Defendant removed the firearm from the waistband of the victim and fled the scene through the back door. The victim also suffered a laceration behind his ear and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Subsequent to the investigation, Police responded to Edgemere Avenue and Linwood Street in Uniondale for a male needing medical attention. Officers determined that it was Defendant Kevin Allen and at 3:10pm placed him under arrest without incident. Officers recovered a loaded defaced black colored Lorcin L380 handgun. The investigation is ongoing.
Defendant Kevin Allen is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and 3rd Degrees, Robbery 2nd Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Assault 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
