Legislator Trotta, Senator Mattera Congratulate Trio of Eagle Scouts from St. James Boy Scout Troop

Boy Scout Troop 7 had another trio of Eagle Scouts ascend to the rank of Eagle Scout at a recent Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  Joining fellow scouts, troop leaders, family and friends in recognizing their achievement were Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta, New York State Senator Mario Mattera, and other officials.
The three scouts did projects at two of the local churches in St. James. Stephen Levin of St. James built and installed six raised community gardens at Sts. Philip & James Church in St. James. He added a brick walkway down the center of the garden area.
Robert Trabulsi of Smithtown organized a food drive for an adult home supported by Sts. Philip & James Church, as well as collected cash donations that the church could use to support its food pantry. Robert also created wooden labels for the shelves at the pantry.
Alex Hartmann of St. James built and installed seven solar lights on 16-foot pressure treated posts in the main parking lot of the St. James Lutheran Church in St. James. The additional lights will ensure the safety of those attending services and functions at night.
“I applaud these scouts and commend them for achieving the highest rank in scouting. This is a very proud moment for these young men, and this accomplishment will be with them for the rest of their lives,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta.
