The Suffolk County Police Department basketball team went head-to-head against the Nassau County Police Department team in the Third Annual Charity Law Enforcement Basketball Game at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum at 1 p.m. on February 27.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison and Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder have joined their respective team’s roster and will put their skills to the test.
Following the law enforcement game, the Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will host Motor City Cruise in a matchup at Nassau Coliseum where Suffolk County Police Officer Timothy Thrane and Nassau County Police Officer Shafeek Karamat will be recognized on-court during the evening as Heroes of the Game.
Tickets are now available at www.linetsgroups.com/policegameand include access to both the Charity Law Enforcement Basketball Game and the Long Island Nets game. Tickets cost $20 and a portion of ticket sales will be donated to 9-1-1 Veterans of Long Island, a non-profit organization created by Suffolk County Police Officer Stephen Clark, who died from cancer in 2010. The organization is dedicated to assisting Long Island’s veterans by providing emergency financial assistance to those who have served in – or are still serving in – the U.S. military.
“United States veterans put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we all cherish,” Commissioner Harrison said. “I am looking forward to watching the Suffolk team defend our bragging rights while also supporting 9-1-1 Veterans of Long Island, an organization dedicated to assisting these heroes during their time of need.”

To assist with this game and fundraiser I will be entering as a teammate and look forward to playing with both Nassau and Suffolk’s finest!”
