Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a recent shooting involving Nassau County Police Detectives in Copiague.
Nassau County Police Department detectives were interviewing a 39-year-old man outside of his residence, located on Buchanan Avenue, referencing an incident in Nassau County on an earlier date. The suspect charged at and threatened investigators with a knife and was shot by detectives just before 4:30 p.m.
The man, who is not being identified, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious but non- life-threatening injuries.
