Executives to Focus on Long Island Business Outlook at 28th Annual HIA-LI Economic Summit March 25

Share

HIA-LI, one of Long Island’s largest business advocacy organizations, will host a panel of prominent, regional business leaders at its 28th Annual Economic Summit on Friday, March 25 between 8:00am and 10:00am at the Radisson Hotel at 110 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.
The event will feature the release of the 2022 results of the PKF O’Connor Davies Economic Survey and Opinion Poll, which will report the collected viewpoints of 270 Long Island CEOs on topics including real estate, local and national confidence levels, projected revenues, pricing and profits, and headcount and salary projections.
The survey, conducted by the PKF O’Connor Davies accounting firm, has been conducted annually since 1995. For the first time, this year’s poll was undertaken in cooperation with the Siena College Research Institute.
While detailed results of the survey of regional CEOs will be unveiled at the event, HIA-LI officials disclosed that a majority of respondents expressed optimism about Long Island’s economic future. More than half perceive an improvement in the overall business climate and anticipate making investments in fixed assets. The vast majority expressed confidence that their company would be in business five years from now.
Terri Alessi-Miceli, President and CEO of HIA-LI, said that the Annual Economic Summit is designed to attract attendance from CEOs, business owners, presidents, managers and business development executives, as well as “all Long Island professionals seeking to take their business to the next level regardless of the overall business climate.”
Panelists will include Edward Bonahue, President of Suffolk County Community College and a member of the HIA-LI board; Jim Coughlan, Principal with TRITEC Real Estate Company and an HIA-LI board member; Kevin O’Connor, CEO of Dime Community Bank and a member of the HIA-LI board; Dr. Patrick O’Shaughnessy, President and CEO of Catholic Health Services; Dr. Don Levy, Director of the Siena College Research Institute; and Rich Humann, President and CEO of H2M architects + engineers and Chairman of the HIA-LI board.
Robert Quarte, a partner with PKF O’Connor Davies and an HIA-LI board member, will serve as moderator.
“The HIA-LI Economic Summit offers an ideal opportunity for Long Island business executives to take a step back and consider our regional business climate from a broad perspective,” said Ms. Alessi-Miceli. “The results of the CEO survey will serve as an excellent springboard for discussion by a first-class panel of Long Island business leaders.”
“The CEO responses to the PKF O’Connor Davies survey indicate that our regional business sector has absorbed both the challenges and lessons of COVID-19 and is ready to press ahead with considerable confidence,” said Mr. Humann. “It will be my privilege to join a panel of distinguished executives from our region as they articulate their visions for the future.”
