Nassau County Executive Laura Curran has released the following statement on Governor Cuomo’s decesion to allow residents to delay payment of the first half of their 2021 general taxes for one month due to the economic effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am pleased to announce that at my request, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an executive order to delay the deadline to pay first half 2021 general taxes from February 10th until March 12th, without interest or penalties,” Curran said. “I hope this provides some breathing room for struggling homeowners as the pandemic continues to take its toll. I will continue to do everything I can to ease tax burdens whenever and wherever possible.”
