Share

Congressman Lee Zeldin recently joined Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman, Suffolk County Legislator Bridget Fleming, Suffolk County Department of Public Works Deputy Commissioner Philip Berdolt, North Sea Beach Colony Association President Nat Wienecke, Southampton Town Councilman Tommy Schiavoni and Guido Schataneck of the Erosion Control District Advisory Board to survey the North Sea Harbor dredging project and North Sea Beach replenishment.

The project will restore North Sea Harbor to a depth of 6 feet for navigational purposes. 15,000 cubic yards of sand will be placed at North Sea Beach to replenish the beach and protect the bulkheads.

“This project is a product of years of hard work from those at every level of government and the commitment of local residents to get this project over the finish line to replenish and protect the North Sea Beach Colony community,” said Congressman Lee Zeldin. “This project is another in a series of important maritime infrastructure projects all across our beautiful district, and I look forward to continuing to work to deliver important maritime victories all along our shorelines.”
