NCPD Officer Rescues Kitten Trapped in Window Well for Two Days

The Public Information Office reports the details of an Animal Rescue that occurred on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:19 PM in Russel Gardens.

According to Police, Officers responded to a residence on Wensley Drive for an animal that was trapped in a basement window well for two days. Upon arrival, Officers were told by residents that the window well was located on the rear side of the house behind a large number of thick bushes.

Officers slowly climbed their way through the bushes and observed a grey kitten trapped in the bottom of the window well. They were able to locate and rescue the distressed kitten, bringing it out to safety. The kitten appeared to be approximately four weeks old and unharmed.

A family member of one of the rescuing officers will adopt the stray kitten and bring it to a veterinarian for evaluation.
