Suffolk Sheriff Offering Free Ice for Those Impacted by Tropical Storm Isaias

Share

Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr. has announced that free ice will be available today for pick up at the County jails for residents impacted by Tropical Storm Isaias. Residents may stop by with their own coolers or plastic bags, and the ice will be distributed on a first come/first serve basis as long as it’s available.

The County Sheriff is offering this service help residents that are having trouble finding — and even affording ice – in the wake of widespread power outages.

“I’m hoping we can provide some peace of mind and assistance by offering this service,” said Sheriff Toulon.

Ice will be distributed today, August 7th, from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Pick up locations:

  • Yaphank Correctional Facility – 200 Glover Drive, Yaphank
  • Riverhead Correctional Facility – 100 Center Drive, Riverhead
