COVID-19 Update from Nassau County Executive Laura Curran

Share

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran today provided the following COVID-19 update:

Nassau County tested 4,695 persons yesterday and received 39 positive results, putting our rate of residents testing positive at 0.8%. Today marks two weeks since the 4th of July with no major spike in positive cases. However, we see COVID continues to surge elsewhere, so let’s continue to follow the common-sense guidance like wearing masks and social distancing.

Yesterday, our County hospital systems reported 45 hospitalizations, which is a decrease of 1 from the day before. 13 COVID-19 related patients were reported in the ICU, an increase of 6. I’m pleased to report there were no deaths in Nassau County due to COVID-19 yesterday. We are well into Phase 4 of reopening our economy, and we continue keep this virus on the run. Be assured, Nassau will continue to monitor the numbers and data in our nonstop battle to contain the spread of COVID-19.
