Nassau County Executive Laura Curran released the following statement, confirming that the many of the county’s outdoor public pools will be opened for the 2020 summer season, albeit a specific residency restriction in place as a safety measure due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am excited to announce that Nassau County’s outdoor pools will be open for the summer season!” Curran said. “Beginning Friday, July 3rd, four of the six County pools —Cantiague Park, North Woodmere Park, Wantagh Park, and Christopher Morley Park — will be available for Nassau County residents only. We also anticipate guidance from the state that may allow us to open our two beach pools at Nickerson Beach.”
