On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office led a “Thank You Parade” of deputies, correction officers, and staff to two separate nursing, rehabilitation, and assisted living centers. The healthcare staff and residents of these types of facilities have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr., a two-time cancer survivor, wanted to show the Sheriff’s Office’s appreciation to all the hard working men and women working tirelessly at not only the large hospitals, but also these types of smaller centers in Suffolk County. Deputies also delivered cards and letters of encouragement written by area students to the residents of both centers.

The parade, which included various Sheriff’s Office vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles, visited two locations. The first took place at The Villa at Westhampton, 68 Old Country Rd, Westhampton and Westhampton Care Center, 78 Old Country Rd, Westhampton at 11:30 AM. The parade then traveled to the Bellhaven Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing Care located at 110 Beaver Dam Rd, Brookhaven at 1:00 PM.
