Sheriff’s Office Participates in Thank You Parades Honoring Healthcare Workers

Share

Last week, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office participated in “Thank You Parades” consisting of deputies, correction officers, Fire Departments, and Ambulance Companies, complete with lights and sirens.

The parades were conducted to honor those frontline healthcare workers at Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, NY, and NY Blood & Cancer Specialists at their Riverhead and Port Jefferson Station locations. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and local fire and ambulance companies arranged the massive parades to show their appreciation to all the hard working men and women working tirelessly, day and night, at the hospital.

Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr., a two-time cancer survivor, was on hand to share his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of the medical professionals. Using a bullhorn, Sheriff Toulon told the crowd, “On behalf of the men and women of Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, and all of the first responders here today, we want to honor you- you are our heroes. Not only for everything you do battling COVID-19, but treating patients every single day- we thank you.”
