Distribution takes place on Thursday, February 10 and Friday February 11

HAUPPAUGE, NY – FEBRUARY 8, 2022 – HIA-LI, one of Long Island’s largest business advocacy organizations, is partnering with the office of Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone to distribute free COVID-19 test kits to its members and businesses within the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge (LI-IPH).Kits will be available for pick-up on Thursday, February 10, and Friday, February 11 between the hours of 10:00am and 4:30pm at HIA-LI, 225 Wireless Boulevard, Suite 101, Hauppauge.

“Testing remains a valuable tool in preventing and containing the spread of COVID-19,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “The County has partnered with a number of community groups to distribute hundreds of thousands of at-home test kits to our residents in need, and our latest effort with the HIA-LI will help protect the health and safety of employees within the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge.”

In addition to drive-thru community based rapid testing sites, Suffolk County has partnered with a number of local community groups, not-for-profits, and elected officials to distribute thousands of at-home test kits to residents in need. The County has prioritized distribution to seniors, veterans, first responders, faith-based organizations, and other vulnerable populations.

“We’re happy to play a part in the national effort to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic,” said HIA-LI President and CEO Terri Alessi-Miceli. “HIA-LI is grateful to County Executive Bellone for his support for this valuable initiative.”

“By distributing free COVID-19 test kits, HIA-LI is promoting the health of the LI-IPH workforce and their families,” said Richard Humann, PE, who is President and CEO of H2M architects + engineers and serves as Chairperson of the HIA-LI board. “We applaud County Executive Steve Bellone for helping us make the kits available.”

The test kits will be available while the supply lasts, with a maximum of 50 kits per company. HIA-LI is asking firms with fewer than 50 employees to request only the number of kits they need.

HIA-LI members and businesses wishing to obtain complimentary COVID-19 testing kits must request them in advance by contacting Allison Norris at 631-543-5355 or at [email protected]. Interested parties should include their contact information, the number of kits requested, and the time of pick up. HIA-LI will not distribute kits on a walk-in basis.
