Nassau County Executive Laura Curran hosted a virtual panel event sponsored by the Office of Health Equity and the Office of Minority Affairs to educate and empower diverse communities about “knowing your numbers” and taking care of heart health.
After open remarks by County Executive Curran, Nassau’s Health Equity Director Andrea Ault-Brutus moderated the discussion between Dr. Pilar Stevens-Haynes, Director of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imagining at Mount Sinai Heart, and Joy Machelle Willliams, who launched SoulJoy Wellness and is a member of the Theita Iota Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
In addition, the County Dome atop of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building has been lit red throughout the week to raise awareness about heart health.
