Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the bipartisan White House Opening Up America Again Congressional Group and bipartisan Congressional Coronavirus Task Force, announced an additional 80,000 3-ply surgical masks and 27,000 gowns have been delivered to Suffolk County.
Earlier this month, Congressman Zeldin was informed by county officials that Suffolk County’s stockpile of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was out of surgical masks, n95 masks, gowns, face shields and body bags. Since then, Congressman Zeldin has worked with County Executive Steve Bellone, the White House and suppliers to deliver hundreds of thousands of pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for local health care and other front line workers.
“This non-partisan fight for urgently needed PPE for Suffolk County healthcare and other front line workers continues with this latest delivery of critical surgical masks and gowns,” said Congressman Zeldin. “When it comes to battling coronavirus, we are all one team, and I am proud to stand side by side with partners from all levels of government in working to ensure Suffolk County has the resources it needs.”
