Spectrum Designs, a custom apparel and promotional products company dedicated to creating meaningful job opportunities for adults on the Autism spectrum, has achieved a major milestone by surpassing $1 million in monthly sales for the first time in company history. In April 2025, Spectrum reached a remarkable $1,044,000, significantly exceeding its previous record of $706,420 set in April 2024.
The record-setting million-dollar month was driven in part by a significant order from FourLeaf Federal Credit Union (formerly Bethpage Federal Credit Union), highlighting Spectrum’s quality work product, expanding impact, and strong corporate partnerships.
“Reaching $1 million in a single month is a phenomenal achievement and a testament to the incredible talent, dedication, and hard work of our entire team,” said Patrick Bardsley, Co-Founder and CEO of Spectrum Designs. “This milestone underscores the power of embracing neurodiversity in the workplace, driving our innovation and success. It ultimately translates into more meaningful employment opportunities and financial stability for our team members, many of whom never dreamed they’d have such fulfilling and impactful careers.”
Sales Surge Sparks Hiring Spree
The record-breaking sales growth directly supports Spectrum Designs’ ability to expand employment opportunities for adults on the Autism spectrum, a community that faces an estimated 85% unemployment rate in the United States. Reflecting this commitment, the company has already hired eight new team members in 2025 across its Westchester and Long Island locations, bringing its workforce to a record high of 82 employees, nearly 70% of whom are on the Autism spectrum. Additional investments include hiring a new embroidery specialist and acquiring advanced production equipment, such as a state-of-the-art laser heat press, further enhancing accuracy and accessibility for all employees.
“Joining Spectrum Designs has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Kerey Viswanathan, a recent new hire. “It’s great to go to a job where people are nice to you, accept you for who you are, and value your strengths and talents at work. This positive environment allows me to work efficiently.”
FourLeaf Federal Credit Union, instrumental in Spectrum’s recent sales milestone, praised the collaboration. “After our recent rebrand to FourLeaf Federal Credit Union, we needed all new corporate apparel and promotional material. We immediately turned to Spectrum Designs. Working with them is more than a business partnership—it’s a commitment to inclusion and empowerment,” said Katie Bielawski, AVP, Community & Corporate Engagement, FourLeaf Federal Credit Union. “We’re proud to support their mission and delighted to contribute to this significant achievement.”
Spectrum Designs is leveraging its proven success by developing licensing opportunities designed to replicate its inclusive employment model nationwide. This turnkey licensing model, currently in development, aims to empower organizations to integrate more neurodiverse employees effectively, providing training, best practices, and operational support.
“We are committed to expanding our impact through innovative approaches, such as licensing, which enables other organizations to adopt our model and further our mission across the country,” added Bardsley.
