The Public Information Office reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 5:35 pm in Woodmere.
According to police, officers responded to Amherst Drive for a house fire. The Inwood, Hewlett, Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Valley Stream and Lynbrook Fire Departments all responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad also responded.
A fireman suffered from smoke inhalation and was transported to a local area hospital. No further injuries were reported.
