The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 5:40 a.m. in Hempstead.
According to Detectives, Hempstead Police Officers responded to a smoke condition at 63 Devon Road. Hempstead Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. Nine residents were in the home during the fire, eight were safely evacuated.
An 81-year-old Hispanic male, who resided in the home, was located after the fire was extinguished and pronounced at scene.
The fire was deemed accidental. The Nassau County Fire Marshall was on scene along with the Red Cross to assist with relocation efforts of the residents.
