First Precinct Problem Orientated Police Officers (POP) report multiple arrests within the confines of Nassau County on Monday, July 31, 2023.
Officers assigned to the POP unit conducted a Project 21 investigation targeting illegal gambling devices being used in various businesses. The following establishments were in possession of these devices:
El Retumbo Deli – 1099 Front Street, Uniondale. A total of five (5) gambling machines were seized along with US currency. Defendant Sandra Reyes, 44, of 54 4th Street, Brentwood was arrested without incident.
Nassau Road Fish Market – 245A Nassau Road, Roosevelt. A total of five (5) gambling machines were seized along with US currency. Defendant Rafael Osorio, 26, of 346 North Columbus Avenue, Freeport was arrested without incident.
Both defendants are charged with Govern Licensee: On Premise Disorderly/Gambling. They were both issued Appearance Tickets returnable to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
