Village of Hempstead Hosts Breast Cancer Screenings at No Out-of-Pocket Cost to Residents on Nov. 5

Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) is partnering with the United Health Care and Village of Hempstead to bring its mammography van to the Village of Hempstead parking lot, located on Front Street between Franklin Avenue and Main St., on Thursday, Nov. 5. Free mammograms will be made available to women over the age of 40 and who have not had a mammography within a year or longer.

Appointments are required. All participants will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and observe COVID-19 prevention guidelines recommended by the CDC.

Attendees with health insurance must provide a prescription from their physician and film from past exams. Women with health insurance may be required to make a co-payment. For more information or to make an appointment, please call UnitedHealth Care at (516) 247-6352.
