Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker recently honored David Singer, a Rocky Point Fire Department Firefighter, as part of the Suffolk County Legislature Volunteer Recognition Program for Firefighter and EMS Personnel. Each Legislator designated one firefighter or EMS personnel from their district to be recognized for their outstanding community service. The names of those recognized were read into the record of the October 6th General Meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature.
“I want to thank David for all of the time and energy that he dedicates to the Rocky Point community,” said Legislator Anker. “In addition to the service he provides through assisting in emergency situations, he hosts and emcees the annual 9/11 Memorial Service in Shoreham as the Chairman of the Rocky Point Fire Department Community 9/11 Memorial. Thanks to David’s efforts and hard work, the community is brought together every year to remember and honor those we lost on 9/11, 2001.”
