Ramona’s Gift to Music (RGM) Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps children advance their musical studies and performance, today announced it will hold a Virtual Appreciation Concert, giving the gift of music to its supporters during this challenging time. The RGM Foundation Appreciation Concert, featuring digital performances by music students and educators in the New York area, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at 8:00 pm.

“Our primary mission at RGM Foundation is to assist young people in achieving their musical goals through scholarship and tuition assistance. It has been our privilege to support many music students these past few years. Of course, none of it would have been possible without the generosity of our supporters,” said John Mangione, [President and Co-Founder along with Michael Cuellar Vice President and Co-Founder]. “The RGM Foundation Appreciation Concert is a terrific opportunity for these talented musicians to shine a light on these dark times and express their gratitude for music and the supporters who have helped them get where they are today.”

Our performers come from a wide range of organizations which include Walter G. O’Connell Copiague HS, Music Academy for Special Learners, Long Island High School for Performing Arts, Long Island Children’s Choir, Friends of Music representing Smithtown (East and West), North Babylon HS, West Babylon HS (in memory of Joey Z) along with past recipients and our Director of Music Performance, Bob DiGiovanna.

The RGM Foundation is named in memory of Ramona Cuellar Mangione, a talented clarinetist and honored music student who gained accolades in NYSSMA, New York All-State Band, All-County Band, attended the Hart School of Music at Hartford University and performed private Recitals under the tutelage of renowned clarinetist Naomi Drucker. At the young age of 24, Ramona passed away from Arteriovenous Malformation. To grow and expand the gift of music, Ramona’s Gift to Music Foundation has been created to continue the gift of music to children in Ramona’s name.
