Hauppauge Industrial Park Invests in Rebranding as LI Innovation Park

Share

After the Hauppauge Industrial Park changed its name to the Long Island Innovation Park, an effort is going on to build a brand around the new name.

The rebranded park, which is touting its connection to technology, has the tagline, “Where Business Meets Innovation.”

It’s a shift from industrial to innovation, touting the park’s focus on technology and an effort to both spotlight existing and attract new companies.

National Grid provided a matching grant of $24,750 to help HIA-LI attract businesses to the innovation park. Combined with HIA-LI’s match, the overall marketing program is valued at $49,500.

The HIA-LI said it’s using the money to advertise on cable TV, place promotions on news-radio stations, and conduct public relations outreach to metro area business publications.

HIA-LI is also sending email blasts to 60,000 CEOs and business decision makers in the New York metropolitan area.

The innovation park is second in size as an industrial park only to Silicon Valley in California. Under its new name, it’s also emphasizing the technological aspect of many of its  companies, much as Silicon Valley has done.

Keith Rooney, National Grid’s director of customer and community management, earlier called the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge “a premier spot for businesses to succeed.”
